The East 86^th Street Association was founded in 2004 with the mission of improving our community’s quality of life, to benefit those who live, work and shop in the area from Park to 2nd Avenue and from East 83^rd to East 88^th Street. The Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.   Our neighborhood faces significant challenges.  The Association is actively addressing a number of these.  Our accomplishments include:

• We obtained a grant to install the Bishop’s Crook lamp posts on East 86^th
• We fund weekly sanitation services – sweeping sidewalks, cleaning out tree pits and bagging corner cans.
• We have beautified the tree pits by planting, mulching and tree bed revitalization (78 trees planted; 86 tree beds planted and mulched).
• We have advocated for pruning all trees on East 85^th and East 86^th
• We obtained a grant that funded tree pit expansion and new tree guards on East 86^th
• We regularly organize volunteer clean-up days.
• We have arranged to remove snow and ice from sidewalk corners.
• We have removed graffiti from street furniture along East 86^th Street and beyond.
• We partner with area buildings to place Big Belly trash bins in the neighborhood.
